So I decided to sit and create a drum package inspired by these 2 great producers. One thing I wanted to steer clear of doing was just tossing a bunch of random sounds into a folder and calling it a J dilla Kit or Kev Brown Kit. I mean that's what most of these companies are doing. I won't expose them though.....
I actually sat and studied these guys and asked myself “what makes their tracks work?” because it wasn't just the records they were lifting the sounds from, It was actually 2 things.

- Their filtering techniques

Kev Brown filters with an Sp 505 and Dilla filtered with an mpc 3000 as well as a Sp 303. So with that said every: Kick, Snare, Shaker, hat etc in this drum package is all sampled from vinyl then processed, tuned, layered and filtered using the same pieces of gear.
